P-51B Mustang III

This is the excellent Academy kit in 1/72 of that early P-51fighter, equiped with Packard engine, Malcolm hood and four bladed propeller with scuffs specially designed for British RAF. They, named Mustang to that specific aircraft but was so popular that Mustang became the standard name for any P-51 variant.

The kit is a little gem, full of details, extremely easy to build and a temptation for modeller, like me, to over extend the level of weathering needed to reflect the real operational planes. Anyway, a beautiful subject at all. 
 

 

P-51 Mustang...me too

Early morning I said that Fw 190 D-9 was the better piston fighter...well, Americans will surely read with unfriendly faces thinking in their magnificent Mustang P-51 the "Cadillac of the Air". Nobody could says that P-51 is not among the 3 best fighter of history...moreover, undoubtedly this is the most beautiful fighter of all times.

The web is plenty of Spitfires, Mustangs and Messerschmitts, that I told myself I would never publish an article on these three machines...well, in honor of the justice I present my rendition to P-51. Later, we will see the other two. 

But I'll continue showing my preferred subjects: biplanes, interwar, early stage of ww2.

This is the 1/48 Hasegawa superb kit. The level and quality of details is awesome and we can do a myriad of variations with the accessories put on the kit.
