Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe....
This time is a Rufe, American code name for hydro version of the famous A6M2 as "zeke" or "zero" was the code name for the normal version...extraordinary machine with a superb aerodynamic design, exploit to maximum the very limited power of their engine. This and the inevitable high drag brought by pontoons handicapped its performance.
But a zero is a zero in any way...I don't know why, but I have just this A6M in 1/72 scale...I have 3 or 4 kits in 1/48 resting in its boxes.
This is the Hasegawa kit, and as all Hasegawa of 80's kits in this scale, is a simple and easy to assemble engineered parts with frugal interior details...but one can do a fine models indeed.
Its a great pleasure to look the model from any angle and enjoy the cleanness of the Zero lines, no doubts a flying machine that is among the most beautiful aircraft ever produced.
