Henschel 129...

This is the Italeri 1/72 scale kit of this obscure aircraft. Why I did this model at all?...because all we modeler are obsessive and compulsive maniacs. Henschel 129 was an frustrated attempt to find a modern substitute of Ju87 as a close air support aircraft, resulting in an under-powered machine and plagued by teething problems...this specific subject is a well documented plane: an experimental cannon was put under the aircraft belly designed to kill the most powerful soviet tank of that times, the IS2. But the experiment results in an exceedingly heavy plane, still more underpowered and slow...definitively not a better substitute of cannon armed Ju87.

But, finally, a very good looking subject in the shelf...
