Su-2...

This is the tipical obscure plane of the soviet orbit, well represented by ICM the well knowed Ukrainian company.
After reading a russian monograph about this plane, get clear to me that Su-2 was an sturdy and very dependable ground attack aircraft, but had the bad luck to be contemporary to the Il-2, the most successful soviet ground attack all over the times. Su-2 looks robust, ugly but with no charme. Not popular subject either among modelers, Su-2 is not a frequent view in contents or even in the web.

This is the 1/72 ICM kit, good enough kit to do a very decent model. My subject was a classic russian green-black camo. I have both models, Su-2 and Il-2, sitting together in the shelf...both have a rude and obsolescent aspect. But Su-2 was put out of service soon after the war and the Il-2 had a long career and its descendants viewed action in Korean war.
Interesting indeed, and a must in every soviet era aircraft collection.
