Me209 v4...frustrated wishes

Me109 or Bf109 was a very advanced machine mid 30's and became the backbone of the Luftwaffe fighter arm, but became obsolescent or not so competitive past the first years of the war. At this time, Focke-Wulf developed an advanced and extraordinary fighter plane -Fw190- using a radial engine with excellent aerodynamic profile that was quickly adopted by Luftwaffe as a complement of its fighter force mainly because Messerschmitt has no response at that time. 
Herr Messerschmitt, a notable aircraft designer and one of the preferred businessmen of the nazi regime, put all his wishes in the Me209 as the real replacement of Me109. Me209 was a very small and aerodynamic machine but designer specially as a racer plane. As a racer was a huge success, getting the absolute record of speed for piston engines up to recent times. But, transform a racer into a fighter was an impossible task because the penalty's derived of considering the necessary armament, armoring, fuel, sturdiness and others was never resolved. Me 209 never went into production but was redesigned many times until the end of the war...Willy Messerschmitt never accepted his failure with that project.

Thanks to HUMA, the little great German plastic aircratf kit maker company, we get one representation of this plane in 1/72 scale. HUMA brings two options into the package: the famous racer or version 1 and the version 4 of the fighter prototypes. This specific machine can be seen in a few pictures in internet and is beautifully represented by HUMA kit.
 

Ta152...the last chance

For many people, this machine was the best fighter of the war...almost a perfect platform designed by one of the most greatest aeronautical engineer of all times, Kurt Tank.
At that time, Germany had not the resources to produce this wonderful and beautiful aircraft.
I bought the original Trimaster kit of Ta152H variant, but is still missing among the other kits in my workbench (I still have more than 400 kit boxes waiting for an opportunity in few shelves)...then, when Italeri produced this kit some years ago, I run to buy one. The H variant was the Tank response to a high altitude fighter for the Luftwaffe and the result was this outstanding machine.
My project was based in a very known picture taken in Alteno aerodrome, 1945, were yellow "1" appears in front of five Ta152 parked in line. The final model is impressive by its big size and the general aspect transmitting a sensation of power and sturdiness...
 

 Me P1101....

This is another gem by HUMA, the German company that brings us a lot of rare subjects and out of the commercial main stream kits from the big brands.
This is a very small and simple kit, but good enough to represent the only real example of that revolutionary aircraft, known as Project 1101 by german authorities. This only example was almost ready to begin trial tests when was discovered by American Army abandoned in a hangar.  
We could suspect the immense impact caused in the specialized inspecting people by this advanced and stylish fighter. This plane was immediately sent to USA and influence forever the development of military aviation, helping to fully understand the function of sweep angled and laminar flux wing in the high speed fly regimes.
Mi subject is inspired in the very known pictures of this interesting plane: very low standard construction, with no sealant in the joining of metal plaques, very hammered plaques to conform the structure, etc. I'd decide to incorporate the final engine, the HeS011, that was never ready to install in this plane at the moment of its discovering.
I bought two kits, one of them I did as a Luft'46 guise, but it is not impressive as this little orphan test example. It's a real eye catcher in the shelf...everyone who looks at this marvel, inquires a full lots of details about it and its history.

Me262 B1 another Heller example...

This is another example of Heller product in 1/72 scale... of course, it shows the age of the molds, but in this case, it's not a great problem to do a satisfactory model because the poor standards used to construct the Me262 in the final stages of war...the real plane don't looks better than the Heller molds at all. I don't remember if I did this project first or the Ouragan was the first one... any case, a lot of fun indeed.
